Business angels

Business angels are experienced business people who support to start-up companies. This may involve a certain amount of coaching. But the main characteristic of business angels is their financial involvement: they put their own money into promising start-ups.

Business angels may operate on a private, informal basis. But the more frequent mode is the set-up of a small, dedicated body to match business angels and start-up entrepreneurs. The task of this body is to screen start-ups, assess their viability, and organize events where viable start-ups and business angels meet.
